The Forecast: Heidi’s Picks

This year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe is set to be the largest yet, with 3,193 shows playing in almost 300 venues. With so much choice, where do you start? Never fear! In this series, the Fringebiscuit team dives headlong into the gargantuan Edfringe guide to find the most exciting shows on offer…

Musical Bingo, Gilded Baloon. I just think this sounds like a ridiculous amount of fun. It’s Bingo with an exciting twist, I can’t wait to see what this event has to offer.

Paul Foot: Hovercraft Symphony in Gammon # Major, UnderBelly, Cowgate. I find this man weirdly wonderful. His style is original and definitely a bit strange; spending an hour listening to him ramble about nonsense sounds ideal.

SmART Attack!, Laughing Horse @ The Free Sisters. Taking us back to the 90’s and revisiting old school TV shows, this crafty sketch show sounds intriguing, different and a great way to regress 20 years.

Into the Woods JR, Greenside @ Nicolson Square. I enjoy a good fairytale, so to see these stories retold in a way that I imagine to be very different to how we know and love them, will be very interesting.

Malasombra, Summerhall. This show incorporates visual theatre, shadow theatre and dance. Something I’m fascinated to see live.
