Key Female Dart Competitors

Darts is a game that is equally enjoyed by women as well as men. They are both good at it, and many females have become professionals at this game. It is one of those rare sports where women are allowed to compete against the men on a professional level.

World Professional Darts Championship

Although women have been playing darts for a long time they are just now getting the chance to compete in the World Professional Darts Championships.

Two Impressive Female Dart Players

The two women who are going to be taking their place at this event are Lisa Ashton and Anastasia Dobromyslova. Although they are going to make history by being the first women to participate in this event, they are already well known in the professional dart community.

They are already world champions but in the women’s division. Ashton has won this title four times while Anastasia has racked up three wins.

The history-making is in that the two spots have been reserved for the two women. But, it is not the first time women have competed in the PDC World Championships. Although it has been very rare. Previously two women won wild card entries. These were Gayl King back in 2001, and then Anastasia had also won a wild card in 2009.

New Challenges

For women to be in this event by taking part is breaking new ground, and both women don’t quite know what to expect or how well they will be received.

Hopefully, these women are setting the trend for the future, and all indications are that is event is being more receptive to accepting the female players. They are looking at acceptance being on the merit of play and not on gender. It is a significant breakthrough for women who normally face this type of difficulty in many other sports.
